How do I join/create a server?

I just realy need to know how to join or make a server because I've never been online and I just want to se what its like so if anyone can help me please reply. Thanks!

Well i dont think you should be asking how to creat a server on someones actual server they will just ignore it and delete it. but what i will say while you on this server to join us all you have to do is click multiplayer on the minecraft screen click add server and type in RisenSMP.com and your set to play! Also you will have to read the rules and wait for a Admin to get on and promote you to a Beginner :p.
